This is perhaps one of my proudest (if not THE proudest) pieces. It’s another version of my iPad case for an ipad (case)!

I made this for my Big Boss at Work because she had donated some of her mom’s yarn to us earlier in the year. Then, I ended up drawing her name for our Secret Santa this year! Well, I know that she has an iPad, and that her case is kind of large because it also has a keyboard in it. Thankfully, other members of the management staff have the same iPad and case, so I measured the case, made a gauge, and hoped like hell that I’d get it right.

I tend to want to make my iPad cases snug, because yarn will have some give to it as you continue to use it more and more. I had initially hoped that it would fit the case widthwise, but when I tested the first few rows on it, it didn’t fit as snugly as I would’ve liked. So I turned the case and put it on lengthwise to see how that looked. Much better.

This pattern was designed by me and was made through some trial, some error, and some careful measurements. It was worked in the round, except for the last part, which was turned back and forth. The clasp is button clasps with straps. This pattern features three colors, and three different stitch styles. :)

I couldn’t tell you what yarn it was because I had no idea. I only knew it was yarn left over from my Big Boss’s mom.

Yarn: worsted weight
Hook: size I
Pattern: my own design. :)

A Christmas scarf for one of my managers and swim buddies, Kelly. :) Made extra long and extra thick and with extra love.

Kelly seems to get cold a lot, and I’ve observed her on a number of occasions with a borrowed wrap from another office-mate or even this fleece blanket another co-worker’s daughter made for her. Since I know Kelly leads an active lifestyle, wherein she is sometimes up very early in the morning, I thought a scarf like this would help keep her warm on chilly mornings around the city and in the office.

Yarn: Country Loom in Rodeo
Hook: N
Pattern: my own. (Very simple. Doubles, worked width-wise, plus fringe.)

A lovely quick one-skein cowl made from my own design, utilizing varying stitches. I was experimenting with creating my own pattern and writing my own pattern, but I forgot which hook I used for this!!! Better luck next time I make my own pattern! :) I was just trying to see if it worked/looked good/etc.

FACTS of CRAFT:
- yarn: Rowan Cocoon in Amber
- fiber content: 80% merino wool, 20% kid mohair (super super soft!)
- measurements: 13 inches diameter (opening), by 5.5 inches wide
- hook: I forgot. =/ Probably something in between size I - K. My first instinct was J.
- time to crochet: super fast! :)

I made this last December as a gift to myself. I used the exact same everything! Same color, same yarn, hook size, etc as the pattern called for.

My foam head demonstrating a gift for a friend of a friend. This hat is made from a pattern available on Ravelry.com. The yarn is Naturally Caron Spa in Ocean Spray. NOTE: the foam head has a smaller head than me. :(
I plan on making an identical hat for another friend as a Christmas gift. :)

I made this up as I crocheted along. It’s an envelope-style sleeve for an iPad2 case. I used Paton’s Classic Wool in Harvest and the star stitch to whip it up. First time I’ve done anything more complex than a scarf without a pattern! :) Yay, me!

Packaging the cowl for gift-giving :) First time I’ve ever tied a card to it and given care instructions for a gift.
I’ve now ordered actual business cards to use when gifting this holiday season! :)

A birthday gift made for my friend Jessy in honor of her 28th birthday. She loved it, and seemed to be really touched by a handmade gift. This is the second handmade gift I’ve made for her, as I gave her a crocheted scarf last Christmas and have yet to determine what to give her for this Christmas! :)
This is a modified version of the same Black Hole Cowl from ElleTrain Knits. Instead of repeated triples & single crochet stitches, I changed repeat rows 2 and 4 with a row of doubles and half-doubles. As a result, the cowl was about two inches shorter (in height) than the low tide version I previously made, but it still came out lovely. The reason for the modification is because I wanted to change up the pattern some, as well as give an option for a tighter button insertion.
Facts:- still worked up really quickly! But I accidentally twisted the foundation chain and had to pull it out and start over.- Yarn: Bernat Roving in Bark- Hook: size P- I again had my classmate model for me so I could snap this picture. :)
